Customer Review: Great Little Speakers

I'm not sure what all the negative reviewers were expecting out of $4.77 speakers. I'm sure that I paid much more for them several years ago and I think that these are just great little speakers.
I've had a set of them for several years. I originally bought them for my Walkman CD player. They worked wonderfully. I now use them to listen to audiobooks that I download (for free) from the library onto my Sansa Clip+ MP3 player. They stay on my bedside and the volume is more than loud enough for nighttime listening. I don't even turn the Sansa up more than halfway.
When I first got them, I tried to use them in a vehicle I had rented that didn't have a CD player. With all the road noise and such in a car, I admit that they weren't really loud enough for that purpose. They are great though at the bedside, in the office, in the kitchen, etc. I think they'd be great in a child's room. They are plenty loud enough for them to hear music or audiobooks on, but not loud enough to drive the rest of the family crazy.
I love that they don't even need batteries. They don't seem to drain my Sansa player much. They're very sturdy as well. I can't tell you how many times these things have taken a tumble off the table, and they haven't shown any damage whatsoever. I pick them up by the wires all the time, but so far, they haven't gotten loose or static'y. Perfect!
