Customer Review: A bit noisy 3 Stars
I have used this camera for a week now. Overall a 3 star rating with biggest negative being the sound of the autofocus mechanism is very noticeable in quiet recording situations. A constant chirping is in the background audio. If there's a lot of sound around, you'll not notice it.5x optical zoom is a plus and not available in other brands of similar cameras. A solid support helps to calm the zoom shakes even though it has "steadyshot".
Another plus is a removable battery so a spare can be inserted when needed. Be sure to buy a genuine Sony spare because the camera is set up to reject most generic replacements.
The memory card slots are set to use Sony or SD cards.
Size is slightly larger than other brands but is necessary for the zoom.
Although this is a HD camera, don't expect the quality of a $1000 unit. (you get what you pay for) It also functions as a 5mp still camera but has a 1-2 sec. lag after the shutter is pressed.
This is designed to be a lightweight "glad I brought a camcorder!" and for all the u-tubers out there.
