Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony MDR-J11G h.ear Sports HeadphonesCustomer Review: My favorite headphone Summary: 5 Stars
These are by far my favorite headphones. I dont like headphones with a headband attached, either the over the head or back of the head type head band. I have tried a wide variety of non-headband headphones in the $10-$40 range, both over the ear and earbud type including ones by phillips, skull candy, coby, panasonic, and apple as well as sony and these are the best for me. In general I have found sony headphones to have the best sound. I use to use the Sony MDR-J10Sony MDR-J10 h.ear Headphones with Non-Slip Design (Black) because they are cheaper but these went on sale once I got them on impulse and have been hooked ever since. They are much better than the Sony MDR-J10. These fit better, are more comfortable, have better sound, are lighter, and because the piece that goes around the ear does not have a hole in it like the Sony MDR-J10 they dont pull the backs off my earrings. I primarily use headphones to listen to audiobooks and these have the best sound compared to the other headphones I've used. My wife can't stand to have anything in her ear and absolutely hates these, she prefers the Sony MDR-Q68LW Sony MDRQ68LW Clip-On Headphones (Black# or the Sony MDR-Q22LP Sony MDR-Q22LP w.Ear Headphones with Interchangeable Headphone Caps. I have used both of those in the past and think the audio quality of these #MDR-J11G# headphones is better even though the headphones my wife uses have larger speakers. These headphones are also great if you use them when you are lying down as you can take one off instead of having to lay on one like you do with headphones that use a headband. I drive with my headphones on alot and these can be adjusted so you can hear both what you are playing and road noises. They are loud enough to listen to when driving in a car or mowing the lawn. When using a gas string trimmer however they are not loud enough and I use the earbud type skullcandy headphones Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds #Silver) which help reduce outside noise and thus, in my opinion reduce noise damage to the eardrum. I have used them at the gym and like them much better than any other type of headphones for working out. This is because they dont have a cloth/foam cover which generally get sweat soaked when working out and they allow the ear canal some air which the earbud type headphones dont. This of course is personal preference. I am personally really rough on headphones so I end up replacing headphones about 3 times a year. It does not matter what type of headphones I use this has been the case. These have not lasted longer or shorter compared to other headphones. I would likely get much longer use if I switched to blue tooth headphones given that the damage I do to headphones is usually getting the cord caught on something like a doorknob or hand rail. These are not too expensive so I dont mind replacing them. They generally run between $14-$20 depending on where you get them. The difference between these and the cheaper Sony MDR-J10, which usually run between $10-$14 is great enough that I dont mind paying extra.
