Customer Review: Not great, but good for the price

These headphones are durable, comfortable, and cheap. With that, you can't really go wrong.
One thing that did concern me, was the sound quality. It's good enough to listen to, but nothing exceptionally great. Again, for the price, you can't really expect much, but it is a con nonetheless.
Another concern I had is, although the in ear design is aimed at your ear drums for increased sound quality, the speakers are still a little exposed, causing people around you to complain. I've had Train conductors, bus drivers, and even regular people complain to me that the music was too loud. Loud for me is subjective, so while I disagree with them, I am still forced to turn them down at risk of being kicked off (The train or bus).
I've owned about 4 pairs of these, and they worked well, until I bought a pair of Oakley O ROKR Pros. The O ROKR Pros are definitely way better all around, but they are also $240 more expensive.
Given the price and durability of these headphones, it really is a good deal, but just note that you get what you payed for. Don't expect Sennheiser quality in these $10 pair of Sony headphones. If you do, then just don't buy them; you'll be severely disappointed.

These headphones have 13.5 mm driver units; while small enough to place comfortably inside the ear, they are also powerful units producing a nice bass sound. Neodymium magnets give the headphones maximum energy at a minimal size and weight. The MDR-J10's clip-on design is hair-friendly and keeps the size of the headphones small. Their tangle-free storage cord is adjustable, making for easy storage in a backpack, briefcase or purse.
