This alarm clock works great for us. The alarm logic (the most important part) is very well designed, it makes it a breeze to set and check the alarm. Some highlights:
* Separate rocker buttons on the side make it easy to adjust the alarm up and down
* One touch buttons to turn the alarms one and off
* One touch button to go into weekend mode, with either no alarms or later ones
* Nap button separate from the alarms means you almost never need to set the alarms into the PM
* It's very reassuring to see the alarms on and the alarm times all the time. Even the AM/PM is very clear, and like I said the nap button means you always have the alarms set to AM anyway. Weekend alarms have a different color, so you can always eyeball the clock before you go to sleep
* You can choose any type of alarm (buzzer, radio, melody) for any alarm
* You can choose your snooze time by pressing repeatedly, and while a snooze is in effect the corresponding alarm flashes
* Full power backup, alarm will sound without power
* The backlight is dim enough for me on the lowest setting, unlike my previous one
* Easy time setting: after unpacking, just set the timezone and you're good to go. DST is one button press, and unlike other reviewers I don't think it's easy to press by mistake.
* FM radio, at least, is very clear
Minor things I would improve if I were Sony:
* Like other reviewers said, the clock is not readable from below. It doesn't bother me since I have a low nightstand, but if yours is high you should keep this in mind.
* Keeping date would eliminate the need to set weekend and DST. However, it would have to be displayed well and easy to set, or we're back into complicated-clock-that-I-don't-really-trust land. I'm not actually sure it's worth doing.
Also, the clock is small, and the small speakers mean you shouldn't rely on this clock to play loud music for you. It's more than adequate for alarm or bedtime listening, though.
Overall, I am really satisfied with the clock, and my girlfriend loves it too.

Good product. auto time set makes life easy. Never have to worry about if the clock is correct or a power outage at night. Easy to tell if the alarm is on, because the alarm time is illuminated when the alarm is on. i'm so pleased with the clock. all the features i need such as the weekend button, special nap alarm, and two different alarm times. easy to set the times. looks nice. the ONLY "problem" is (the clock is placed on a shelf above my bed and) i can't see the time on the face from below; i have to lift my head up to be near eye-level with the clock to view the numbers. in other words, the numbers become too faint to be seen when viewed from a low vantage point. but that's okay.Customer Review: Excellent Product for everything but the brightness

This product has so many good features... multiple alarms, displaying all the time - you can always see which alarm is set and for which time. It snoozes for 10 minutes and clicking snooze multiple times will add up the minutes, so you can snooze for an hour if you wanted (which may be a bad or good feature...).
The only complaint is that it's extremely bright. It has a setting, but even on low, I have to cover it with something so it doesn't light up half the room. I haven't tampered with it much to see if there's another setting somewhere... that would make it 5 stars.

I am from Australia, and didn't buy this clock from Amazon as they don't ship electronics internationally. However, I wanted to post a review since I had real concerns that this alarm clock might not work in Australia (240v 60hz country), but can now reassure anyone else in the same situation.
I'm pleased to say that with an inexpensive voltage converter I have had no problems at all getting the clock running correctly. I had also read that there was a potential problem with clocks running fast on the 60hz current here, but it's also absolutely fine.
Similarly, while clock is set to US time zones, and none of the 'canned' time zones are correct for Australia, it was extremely easy to manually change the default time.
I bought this clock after searching the net for weekend friendly alarm clocks, and amazingly there don't seem to be any in Australia. I'm pleased to say that the possibly foolhardy purchase of a 'foreign' clock (without being aware at the time of the complexity of the possible power supply problems) has turned out well. Recommended.
