I purchased this as a gift for my parents who's kitchen is spacially challenged. They live in an area that doesn't receive that great of radio reception to begin with so I did have some doubts that this would be powerful enough to bring in the signal clearly for them. Well I am happy to say that all stations come in crystal clear! The 3 CD changer and MP3 jack work wonderfully and the remote control that is magnetic is a plus too. This under-cabinet CD/Radio/iPod player is fabulous! I bought the refurbished unit, and it arrived in perfect condition... not to mention cost half the price! Installation was a snap with the provided paper template. The handy remote uses a magnet to stick to the fridge, and the unit comes with axillary input cable. The radio gets great reception, and the bass boost is nice, but makes the sound slightly garbled at high volumes. Without bass boost the sound is crystal clear. The display clock is easy to set, and buttons are user friendly. I would recommend this product to anyone, especially refurbished. Why not save the extra money?!Customer Review: Sony Radio

My wife was skeptical about adding electronics to her kitchen especially considering this required drilling holes in her cabinets. Let me put it this way, she has never fallen this much in love with an electronic purchase of mine before, she loves it! I hit the ON switch almost instinctively when I walk in for my morning coffee. NPR never sounded this good before. The CD changer works ok though we always have a single CD in there - a daily morning prayer that plays at sunrise. We have reduced TV watching and let this unit keep us informed. I highly recommend this for any household since the kitchen is where the family gathers and listening to intellectually stimulating talk and music is essential for everyone. The IPOD connector works as expected, the sound quality and radio reception is pretty good. I have a high end AV system with custom speakers so there is no comparison here but this piece more than does its job. It has been a conversation point when guests come in and some have even purchased the same unit for their homes. The Orange backlit LCD might seem unusual at first but over a period of time it doesn't even matter.
