Purchased this shower radio for my daughter last Xmas and I am now back on Amazon looking for a replacement. Poor radio reception, difficult tuning, and lack of CD functionality we could live with, but unit affected buy moisture over time and turned "moldy" inside front tuning face plate. Radio quick working. CD player still works but sound quality if fuzzy. Really not the high quality product I have come to expect from Sony. Also unit quite heavy and bulky. Poor durability and quality for the price. Would not recommend.Customer Review: GREAT radio

This shower radio FAR surpasses my expectations! I was accustomed to a cheapie shower radio that I use daily. All I wanted was something with a digital tuner. This also has a weather channel band, a TELEVSION band (great for taking a quick shower during a show you are watching, like sports) which simulcasts network television shows, and has a great sound. It's easy to use, easy to program, has a surprise CD player (which I didn't catch in the description), and sounds as good as any mini-boom box could. I bought it for the shower, but wouldn't hesitate to use it as a "regular" device.Customer Review: So far so good

I'm VERY happy with this product. I don't actually use it in the shower, I keep it on the bathroom sink. It does get wet, of course, and that doesn't seem to affect its performance. Only possible drawback is that my rechargeable batteries did not last long inside this radio, and one of the batteries was corroded after a while. I really don't know if this was the battery or the radio. It was likely the batteries, as my new rechargeables have not had these problems yet.
Good reception, given the product. Volume is loud enough to hear in the shower or with water running. Easy and intuitive to use. I'm very very satisfied.

This is the third shower radio I've owned, and I've had it for almost a year. I use it mostly for the radio, only playing CDs maybe 4 times so far. It's on for about 30 minutes every morning and I'm still on the original set of Duracell batteries! My last radio went through 4 AAs every month, so this is a huge improvement.
The sound is as good as you can get from a small unit like this, and the reception is excellent even on local public radio stations and I've only unwrapped the antenna wire a few inches.
Not much more I can say. There are a lot of cheaper options available, but none of them come close to the Sony, so if you are serious about getting a quality unit you'll be happy with, this is your only choice.
