Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar with Subwoofer - BlackCustomer Review: "Very pleased" Summary: 4 StarsI am very pleased with the Sony sound bar. I purchased it because the speakers on my Sony plasma were very weak and inadequate. I use the soundbar in my bedroom and it has greatly enhanced my audio and provided more than adequate volume and bass response. Having said that one must keep in mind that the sound bar is not intended to replace a 5.1 system, but if you want to enhance the sound of your tv in a medium to small room I do not think you will be disappointed with the HTCT100.
Customer Review: good product Summary: 4 StarsThe Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar w/Subwoofer is a fine top quality sounding product. Enriching the room with surround sound. This is not a system for listening to head banging "heavy metal" music like Zepplin, Hendricks, Black Sabbath, etc. It doesn't crank-up that high.
Customer Review: Perfect for my Apartment Summary: 5 StarsThis little soundbar packs a great punch and is perfect for my 1 bedroom apartment. The sound system that came with my hdtv wasn't that great, so this does the job. The soundbar is very low profile but it imitates the functions of a surround sound system without all the installation necessarry of extra speakers in your house, walls and carpeting.
If you want great sound that doesn't require all the wires of a home theatre system, thin this is for you! After reading all the reviews before my purchase, I must say that I agree with most of them.
Customer Review: Perfect Value/Performance Combo Summary: 4 StarsPros:
Small speaker, loud, clear, myriad inputs.
Cons:
Long but limited cord to the speaker, not much adjustment, can only connect 3 items (not including DM port items).
Summary:
Essentially I was looking for something to provide better and bigger sound than my TV's built in speakers could provide, and my rooms layout left surround out of the picture. This fit the bill perfectly.
This bar gets loud, has plenty of feel for someone who wants "better" sound, yet can't pick up the nuances of a better setup. Got this for about $250 a fantastic price and while it can only take 3 inputs, that's enough for my current setup (blu-ray player & Uverse). Handles my switching just as well as my TV did. This is best for a setup where your tv and devices all have HDMI input/output so you can run everything through this device. With a device that outputs in component + optical or stereo, you have to run the audio and video along separate routes, meaning you would have to change your inputs on the television and the receiver. This could annoy any non-technical spouses or roommates.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to upgrade their sound without spending too much, or running speaker wire all over your room.
Customer Review: Very good quality for the Price Summary: 4 StarsThe product delivers a good bass sound. The separation expected from the front bar, however, is not very evident. However due to reading previous reviews prior to purchase, I was not surprised.
The system hooks up in a matter of minutes, and has a plethora of ways to connect. The remote control operates very well. Overall, the quality is comparable to what you would expect with Sony, and the price is very very reasonable. For its intended purpose, a bedroom system, it does the job.
