Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony D-NF610 ATRAC3/MP3 CD Walkman with Digital TunerCustomer Review: Solid MP3 CD walkman Summary: 4 StarsI have had this walkman for a week now and I am very satisfied with it. Surprisingly, there are very few CD players out there that also play MP3 CD's and have a radio built in. I think this one is one of the better choices among those. I use it for commuting to work (about 45 min. each way) and it serves it's purpose well. The amount of music you can put on one CDR is great, so i don't have to change CD's at all. The sound quality is decent enough considering the street noise would probably interfere even with the finest sound you could get. Out of the 3 bass settings i find the middle one perfect: not dry and not muffled. The battery life is great, at the rate this is going i'll probably have to recharge mine once a month or so. The drawback is that all you get is the CD player. The headphones that come with it are inadequate: cheap, uncomfortable and do not sound good. Prepare to buy separate headphones. There is no beltclip included. There is no AC adapter or car (tape) adapter included. Overall, i would recommend it with the caveats listed above.
Customer Review: why 5 stars? Summary: 5 Starsd - nf610 is the best one 'n' cheapest one in its kind. ALL the things included. probably the best for its price. 3 different base sound that sometimes it feels that band is inside your brain. that s all!!!
Customer Review: WOW Summary: 5 StarsI bought this cd player not knowing that it played the ATRAC format. I am able to fit 27 cd's worth of music on one ATRAC cd. So, when I travel to camps and such I never change the CD. The only down side to the ATRAC CD's is how long they take to burn. It takes my DELL several hours to process the information. But, I don't have to burn very many of them. The FM and AM tuners work very well, even in a building.
Customer Review: MP3s Summary: 5 StarsI would like to correct the previous review by evilmicro. This CD Player plays MP3's, you do not need to convert to ATRAC3 format. It will play either format just fine. I have been listening to MP3 cd's with no problems. I have yet to install the ATRAC3 software, so I cannot give any reviews of it. The player also supports VBR (variable bitrate) MP3's. Evilmicro, you should buy the product (or at least read the manual) before you review it.
Customer Review: Used it without Atrac3 feature Summary: 3 StarsBefore I had a chance to get home and download the software on my computer, I had a few days to just use the player in the car and on headphones. I wasn't as happy as I wanted to be with the money I spent, so I already returned it and bought a cheaper Panasonic with the tuner and mp3 playback capability. I found the Sony couldn't handle full volume without distorting the sound, especially the bass. The machine beeps no matter what button you are pushing unless you do some maneuver every time you turn the thing on involving holding down a button for some time, which I didn't like to do while driving. Then, in my Nissan, there is a compartment big enough for a portable cd player, but not one that takes the inputs 180 degrees from each other- the width increases too dramatically and it doesn't fit anymore... I don't have any of these problems with the Panasonic, although I won't have a chance to use Atrac3.
