This camera takes great pictures and does not require a lot of technical knowledge. Our 3 year old will not sit still for pictures and this camera is so fast, we actually get several great shots! Also, I notice a difference with the 8.1 MP in the clarity of many of our photos. I love all the options available and that it's a camera that a technical idiot like myself can use. This works pretty well. It does have great features which I believe every 8.1MP camera have. Got this as this was a Sony and the combo deal with the SD card and the care. Picture quality is superb and sharp. Customer Review: Awful

You have to hold the button down forever and sometimes when you press the button it doesn't work and you have to press it again. Also, the camera ONLY uses sony sd cards, which are more expensive and don't even fit into the digital photo printer at my local cvs, you have to do it through the usb wire sony provides. The usb is also specific to the camera, the end that attaches to the camera is far, far smaller than similar small usb ports that I've had on other cameras that have allowed me to use usb's interchangably
I would not recommend this camera, buy something not made by sony. you'll save money on sd cards, usb cords, and you'll save yourself the trouble of trying to print out the pictures.

Okay, so I got my new camera, about a week before my best friend's sweet 16.
I'm sitting at the table at the sweet 16, looking at some pictures I had taken.
The camera slips out of my hand SLIGHTLY and the lens was out.
the camera shut off but the lens was still out & it kept saying "turn power on and off"
and i kept doing that but NOTHING happened.
this camera is WAYYY too delicate.
literally, i dropped it about 3 inches from the table. it's rediculous.
it wasn't that great in the first place.
the effects weren't great. the shutter time was VERY SLOW.
almost all the pictures without flash came out orangey and blurry.
the flash made everything a little TOO bright.
find another camera.

This was a birthday gift for my teenager. The camera is awesome. In my opinion, better than the Canon PowerShot I have. It has a very nice display, the pictures are clear and crisp. The shutter movement is quick. I would recommend as a good deal for anyone needing a quality camera for a good price.
