The bulb was delivered in a couple of days, I installed in and my TV is working again. I can't offer an opinion about durability on this replacement lamp because I just got it. My original lamp died within a month of the purchase of the set in 2004, the second lamp lasted until Jan 2011.
The procedure for replacing the housing on the KF-50WE610 is actually very easy. There are two plastic knobs on the back of the set that hold the front panel on, all you have to do is unscrew them and pop the panel off, no tools are required. There is a cover over the lamp housing that's also held on by the same type of hand screw, just unscrew it and remove the cover. The lamp in held in place by two screws, in mine the old lamp had hex head screws which required a trip to Home Depot to get a set of hex keys, the replacement lamp uses ordinary philips head screws.
One more thing that I want to comment on is the wildly varying pricing. When I first looked at this lamp it was priced at $99, then when I bought it the next day it was $101, now (4 days later) it's $115.
